Slatki

They say they you should save room for dessert, and it’s no wonder that we saved Slatki (Sweet) for last.

He hid into the darkness of his kennel and tried to stay under the radar for as long as he could. As, one by one, other dogs from the shelter found better lives elsewhere, the remaining Žarkovica dogs plucked up the courage to see the light of day more often. So Slatki too decided to spoil himself one day and lay in the sun for a while, thus exposing his identity.

Slatki values his peace above anything else. When he is not inside his kennel, he likes to sunbathe in front of it. He doesn’t mind anyone else’s business and is not interested in many things. He has spent his entire life living in a big dog family and he is used to seeing other dogs everywhere. We do not know much about him, but years flew by with his forever home nowhere in sight, and now there isn’t a second to waste.

Can Slatki be the main character of a beautiful story? Can all of us join forces to find a home for him, so that he never wishes to curl up in the dark again? Can we conjure up a miracle and let Slatki experience his first winter in a warm home?
