We weren’t surprised in the least when test results came in and showed that Darko suffers from leishmaniasis.

He is in therapy, we’re treating his symptoms, but his soul needs treatment too...

Darko avoids any kind of contact, with people or with dogs. He would avoid himself too, if he only could. One of the reasons he hates the entire world is that he is half-blind. Vets say he can only see shadows.

What Darko is keeping from all of us is the darkest of all dark places. We don’t know his secrets and they still make us hate the world and rip our hearts into ever-tinier pieces. Be that as it may, Darko doesn’t need pity and bad feelings, but rather help. Because, more than anything in this world, we would like for the shadows that he sees to be bright and warm.
